What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state of mind that occurs in both man and animals. It is as much a part of our everyday functioning as seeing and hearing.

There is nothing magical about hypnosis and contrary to popular belief, it is not a state of sleep. It is better described as a state of heightened awareness and concentration coupled with a feeling of calm and deep relaxation.

A hypnotherapist will use the power of suggestion to induce a hypnotic state and then work with you to bring about a therapeutic change.

Hypnosis would help someone start doing something they would like to be able to do, or stop doing something they no longer wish to do. There are no recorded adverse side effects from hypnosis. It it totally safe, natural and non-addictive.

Hypnosis is an exciting, dynamic tool which will help you achieve powerful change.

How Many Sessions will i need?

For best results you will need to meet with the hypnotherapist for at least three (3) sessions.

Initial consultation                                       1-1.5 hours

Consolidation (within 2 weeks)                  1 hour

Follow-up (within 2 months)                       1 hour

Why Hypnosis Works

We are controlled every day by our mind functioning in two distinct ways. The conscious mind, the part which allows us to reason, solve problems and make decisions, accounts for only about 10% of our mental power. The subconscious mind, however, the feeling part of us which contains all our emotions, memories, habits, belief systems and controls all of our internal organs, accounts for 90% of our mental power. This explains why our “will power” (which is decision based) so often fails us when we depend on it to make changes.

Most of our programming for life takes place during our childhood, before we develop our own ability to reason. If during our childhood we are praised, encouraged and supported, we will develop a healthy self-esteem. If, however, we are put down, criticised, blamed or told we are stupid, poor self-esteem is often the result.

These negative messages and beliefs, received from parents, teachers, peers etc., can become “blocks” which prevent us from achieving our full potential. During hypnosis, we can go back and remove these blocks; then work towards a more positive belief system.

Hypnosis allows you to utilise 100% of your mental power to make the changes you desire.
