PSYCH-K® is a personal change process designed to help individuals transform self-limiting subconscious beliefs. According to PSYCH-K® Centre International, "PSYCH" refers to psyche — mind, soul, or spirit — and "K" represents the Key to sustainable success. At Norwest Wellbeing, PSYCH-K® is facilitated by Rebecca Smith, a PSYCH-K® Centre International Facilitator.
For the full definitive guide, see what is PSYCH-K® on the main PSYCH-K® hub. This article is a short client-facing overview.
The thinking behind it
Much of daily behaviour runs on subconscious beliefs formed earlier in life. Beliefs like "I'm not good enough", "money is a struggle" or "I can't trust my body". Because these run automatically, willpower and positive thinking often fail to shift them: the conscious mind wants one thing while the subconscious keeps steering toward another.
PSYCH-K® addresses this mismatch. In a session, you and your facilitator identify the limiting belief behind your goal, then use structured PSYCH-K® processes called "balances" to help the subconscious accept a new, self-chosen belief. You stay fully awake and engaged throughout. PSYCH-K® is not hypnosis, although both approaches share the idea that lasting change happens below conscious awareness. Compare the two approaches in PSYCH-K® vs hypnotherapy.
Sessions are goal-directed: you arrive with something you want to change, and the work is organised around beliefs connected to that goal rather than open-ended talk. See what to expect in a session for the step-by-step flow.
How it applies at Norwest Wellbeing
Rebecca Smith offers PSYCH-K® as a distinct service alongside her clinical hypnotherapy work. Clients often choose it for confidence and self-esteem, stress, and goals tied to her specialty areas in women's health. See women's health services for that side of her practice.
PSYCH-K® sessions are booked separately from hypnotherapy appointments, through the dedicated booking page at /psych-k/appointments. Session options and pricing are shown there when you book. For an overview of what a session involves and how to choose between PSYCH-K® and hypnotherapy, read PSYCH-K® sessions or visit /psych-k.
If you're not sure which approach fits your goal, phone the clinic on (02) 8069 9777 and the team will point you in the right direction. As with all services at Norwest Wellbeing, no particular outcome is guaranteed. Results depend on your goal and your participation.
