Does hypnotherapy help children with ADHD?
Hypnotherapy for ADHD children can help when the clinic room itself gets in the way — masking, sensory load, and short windows of focus. The Home Session is written around your child's ADHD patterns after intake and a short Zoom meet, then listened to at bedtime so the work can repeat without another appointment battle. Results vary; it complements, and does not replace, your existing supports.
Can hypnotherapy help autistic children?
Autism hypnotherapy for children works best when it respects sensory needs and special interests instead of forcing a therapy-room performance. We build the session from the child you actually have — including what they love — and deliver it in their own bed, where they do not have to mask for a stranger.
Is hypnotherapy safe for ADHD and ASD kids?
Clinical hypnotherapy for ADHD and autistic children is a complementary approach. There is no stage hypnosis and nothing to force. If your child has an NDIS plan, OT, psychology, or medical care, The Home Session is designed to sit alongside that team, not replace it. Outcomes vary between children.
How is ADHD hypnotherapy for children different from a clinic visit?
A clinic visit asks an ADHD or autistic child to regulate in an unfamiliar room with a new adult. ADHD hypnotherapy via The Home Session keeps the same clinical intake and review, but the listening happens at home in two short bedtime parts — where sensory load is lower and repetition is possible night after night.
Can I just book an in-clinic appointment for my ASD or ADHD child instead?
Child sessions at Norwest Wellbeing are delivered as Home Sessions. After years of working with ASD and ADHD kids in the clinic, we found the room itself was the biggest barrier: sensory overload, masking, and one bad appointment can turn a child off the work entirely. The Home Session is the same clinical session, the same investment, delivered the way ASD and ADHD kids actually respond to. If you're unsure whether it suits your child, book a free fifteen minute call and we'll talk it through.
Does Paul actually understand what this is like, or is it just his job?
It's not just his job. Paul is ASD and ADHD himself, and he built The Home Session from the inside, not from a textbook. He knows the meltdowns, the masking, and the exhaustion of not fitting the room you're in, because he lived it. He also knows it doesn't have to stay something to fight. He sees his own ASD and ADHD as a strength now, and that's exactly what he wants for your child too.
Will this actually use my child's special interest, or is that just marketing?
It's built into the intake on purpose. We ask what they love in detail, not just as a passing question, because it becomes the world the session is set in. If they'll only listen to something about dinosaurs, trains, or a particular game, that's what they get.
My child's meltdowns don't happen at school, only at home. Is this still relevant?
This is one of the most common patterns we see, and it's exactly what The Home Session is built around. Holding it together all day and falling apart at home isn't a discipline problem, it's exhaustion. The session works with that pattern, at the time of day it actually shows up.
Bedtime is already a battle in our house. Won't this make it harder?
It's designed to fit into a battle, not add to one. There's no new routine to enforce and nothing extra required of you. Your child presses play and listens as they fall asleep, the same as any other night, except the session is quietly doing clinical work underneath the story.
What happens on the free call?
It's a relaxed fifteen minute chat about your child: what's going on, what you've tried, and how the session would be created for them. If it's a good fit, we text you the link to get started. If it's not, we'll tell you that too.
How is this different from a hypnosis app or off-the-shelf recording?
Those are made for everyone, which means no one. Your child's Home Session is written after clinical review of your intake and created around their specific sensory profile, personality, and interests. No other child receives it.
My child won't sit still for anything. Will this work?
There is nothing to sit still for. The session comes in two parts of twelve to fifteen minutes each, listened to lying in bed as they fall asleep, like any other night.
My child doesn't trust adults. Won't the Zoom call be a problem?
The Zoom call is short and low pressure, ten to fifteen minutes, mostly Paul saying hello and asking a few questions. There's no expectation that your child performs, opens up, or says much at all. After that call, the actual session is just a calm voice inside a story created from their own world, listened to alone in bed. No eye contact, no pressure, no one watching them, at the one time of day they're already relaxed.
When will we notice changes?
Every child is different. With nightly listening, many families report gradual shifts over the first few weeks: calmer evenings, softer reactions, a little more confidence. Hypnotherapy is a process, not a switch.
Will my child need more than one session?
Start with one. We never sell sessions for the sake of it. After a few weeks of listening we look at what has shifted and decide together.
We have an NDIS plan and a therapy team. Does this fit?
Yes. The Home Session complements behavioural therapy, OT, and psychology supports. It does not replace them and does not interfere with them.
Will someone actually meet my child, or is this just based on a form?
Both. The form gives us the full picture from you, and then we book a short Zoom call, ten to fifteen minutes, so Paul can say hello to your child directly and ask anything that needs clarifying before the session is created. It's a genuine clinical step, not a formality, and your child's session isn't created until it's happened.
What happens right after I pay?
Instant access to the intake form. Take your time with it. Once submitted, we'll send you a link to book a short call so Paul can meet your child, then their session is created and delivered within one to two days.
