Norwest Wellbeing offers clinical hypnotherapy for children aged four to twelve, delivered as The Home Session. That is a deliberate clinical choice: the same depth of intake, review, and therapeutic work as a chair session, created from the patterns behind your child's behaviour and listened to where they feel safest, their own bed.
Paediatric hypnotherapy is led by Paul Smith (Dip.Clin.Hyp., Dip.Psych.Th.), with particular depth in ASD and ADHD. Rebecca Smith also creates Home Sessions for boys and girls aged four to twelve. For ASD and ADHD-focused work, see The Home Session for ASD and ADHD.
What children's sessions involve
As the parent or guardian, you complete a clinical child intake, then book a short Zoom call so the practitioner can meet your child. The session is individually written and delivered (usually within one to two days of that call) as two short parts for bedtime listening. See your role as a parent.
The investment is $300, the same as a standard clinical consultation. A free fifteen minute call is available before you start if you want to talk it through first.
What we help children with
Common areas include ASD and ADHD, anxiety and overwhelm, anger and big emotional reactions, friendship struggles, school refusal and school stress, trust issues with adults, abandonment fears and family upheaval, and low confidence. Broader childhood concerns are listed in common childhood issues.
Other options for children
Alongside The Home Session:
- Personalised audio sessions for ages 4–12 ($97), a self-directed product without the full Home Session clinical process. See children's personalised audio.
- Once Upon Them personalised bedtime stories for ages 4–11. See Once Upon Them bedtime stories.
Teenagers (13–18) are seen through their own pathway. See teen sessions.
As with all clinical work, no outcome is guaranteed; each child's response is individual. Start at /hypnotherapy/the-home-session, or phone (02) 8069 9777.
