Q: Does gut-directed hypnotherapy work for IBS? A: The trial programme is Grade A, with the limit that people cannot be blinded. See does hypnotherapy work for IBS.
Q: Is this the same as stage hypnosis? A: No. Clinical GDH uses gut-focused suggestion and homework. You are not made to perform.
Q: How many sessions do the trials use? A: Typically 7–12 in the Manchester model. That is a research protocol, not a clinic package.
Q: Can it replace my GP? A: No. Red flags need a doctor first.
Q: What does NICE say? A: CG61 is the IBS guideline. NG116 is not.
Q: Diet or hypnotherapy? A: Head-to-head data suggest similar improvement for many people. Preference and access matter.
Q: Do apps count as the same evidence? A: Not yet. See online and app-delivered GDH.
Q: Where is treatment booked? A: Not in this wiki body. The clinic handshake after the article is the path to Norwest care when those fields are set.
