PSYCH-K® began with Rob Williams in Denver in December 1988. He was a former corporate manager who became a psychotherapist and grew frustrated that talk alone often did not create the change his clients needed. He described the method as arriving through a series of intuitive insights, then tested it with family and friends before teaching it more widely. He died on 3 October 2024. The international centre he built continues under the team he chose.

What our clients say

10 June 2020
I had a wonderful and deceptively powerful experience. I experienced tangible results in terms of appetite and satiety. I feel hopeful that my body is now responding in a more normal way in terms of food and weight loss. This is a dramatic change for me and I am so thankful to Bec for the lovely way she delivers these gifts. Thank you.

PSYCH-K®

Rob Williams

Robert M. Williams studied philosophy at UCLA and counselling at the University of Colorado. After years in business (backpacking, energy management, telecommunications), he left that world for psychotherapy. Coming from a results-focused background, he found conventional counselling too slow and too thin on spiritual depth for what he wanted to offer.

He explored many approaches (including NLP, hypnosis, and various mind-body methods). In his own telling, the core of PSYCH-K® arrived in late 1988 as a clear “download” of material he then tested carefully. He later founded The Myrddin Corporation (trading as PSYCH-K® Centre International) and wrote PSYCH-K®… The Missing Piece/Peace In Your Life! (2004).

A line that still captures the spirit of the work: PSYCH-K® does not choose what you should believe. It helps you believe what you choose.

Bruce Lipton

Many people first hear about PSYCH-K® through Bruce Lipton, the cell biologist and popular author. He has written that he uses the process himself, that it helped him finish The Biology of Belief, and that he recommends it while making clear he is not a facilitator and cannot guarantee results. We tell that story in full, with his own words, in Bruce Lipton and The Biology of Belief. For what the research does and does not show, see research and evidence.

The organisation today

PSYCH-K® Centre International trains facilitators and instructors worldwide. Completing the Basic Workshop (or the online path) allows someone to facilitate sessions and use the title PSYCH-K® Facilitator. “Certified” is reserved for Certified Instructors who teach the workshops.

At Norwest Wellbeing, Rebecca Smith facilitates as a PSYCH-K® Centre International Facilitator. She is not a Certified Instructor (she facilitates sessions; she does not teach the official workshops).

What is PSYCH-K® · Research and evidence

PSYCH-K® is not medical or psychological treatment. It complements professional care and never replaces it. No particular outcome is guaranteed; results depend on your goal and your participation.
